Fractional Unstable Euclidean Universe

چکیده

Despite common acceptance of Big Bang hypothesis among most cosmologists, nonetheless there are criticisms from a small number of theorists partly supported by astronomy observation suggesting that redshift data could not always be attributed to cosmological expansion. In this paper, a new approach to cosmology “fractional calculus” has been developed that we hope will attract attention from astrophysicists and cosmologists because of the way it challenges the conventional big bang framework. c © Electronic Journal of Theoretical Physics. Number counts against K-corrections

Having based on the analysis of Pietronero and collaborators the galaxy number counts can be considered as an evidence of that the geometry of the universe is euclidean and that the K-corrections are absent. In such a universe measuring the cosmological redshift of the object and measuring the flux from the object are inconsistent. It is considered the model of the universe which describes the ...

The Wave Function Discord

Linde’s proposal of a Euclidean path integral with the “wrong” sign of Euclidean action is often identified with the tunneling proposal for the wave function of the universe. However, the two proposals are in fact quite different. I illustrate the difference and point out that recent criticism by Hawking and Turok does not apply to the tunneling proposal. The debate about the form of the wave f...

Homogeneous Modes of Cosmological Instantons

We discuss the O(4) invariant perturbation modes of cosmological instantons. These modes are spatially homogeneous in Lorentzian spacetime and thus not relevant to density perturbations. But their properties are important in establishing the meaning of the Euclidean path integral. If negative modes are present, the Euclidean path integral is not well defined, but may nevertheless be useful in a...

Towards the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect: a Noncommutative Geometry Perspective Matilde Marcolli and Varghese Mathai

In this paper we give a survey of some models of the integer and fractional quantum Hall effect based on noncommutative geometry. We begin by recalling some classical geometry of electrons in solids and the passage to noncommutative geometry produced by the presence of a magnetic field. We recall how one can obtain this way a single electron model of the integer quantum Hall effect. While in th...
